This is one I tell everyone to open when they are starting their credit card points journey.
The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Credit Card has an elevated offer of: 100,000 bonus for $5,000 spend in 3 months. Please open this link in a separate browser if you arrived here from instagram.
The 100,000 points are worth $1,000 with Chase Travel℠ or more if you find a good deal with Points Boost. And the annual fee is $95 so that’s another great return on your investment. Plus they have added some great perks:
3x points on all gas and EV charging stations.-it’s nice to have a points multiplier for gas these days.
3x points on vacation home rentals (including Airbnb, Vrbo, and Vacasa).
$100 Annual Hotel Credit: The annual statement credit for prepaid hotels booked through Chase Travel has doubled from $50 to $100.
Global Entry/TSA PreCheck Credit: Receive up to a $120 statement credit every four years to cover application fees for TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, or NEXUS.
Emergency Evacuation Coverage: New complimentary Emergency Evacuation and Transportation coverage, offering up to $100,000 for medical transportation when you are more than 100 miles from home.
Apple TV Subscription: Complimentary 1-year subscription to Apple TV when you activate the benefit by 12/31/2026.
You can also use the 100,000 points to transfer to partners like I prefer to do, like Flying Blue and Air Canada etc. These are some of the most flexible, valuable points so this is why I always recommend this card first.
My favorite use is to transfer them to Hyatt, however they now transfer at a 4:3 ratio to Hyatt. If you want them to transfer at a 1:1 ratio, you will need to combine the points onto a Chase Sapphire Reserve® or Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠.

I just saw an ad for the Sapphire Reserve for 100k points and $500 travel credit. I don’t have that card or this one – Sapphire Preferred. Which should I open first?!
If you’re up for the annual fee on the sapphire reserve, then that is a better bonus right now! Here’s a link for it. But if it doesn’t become clickable once I post this, reply, and I can email it to you.
Do any of these cards transfer points to partner airlines that are linked to Alaska airlines ?
I am trying to get enough points to purchase tickets to Rome. I don’t have enough just with Alaska card.
Thanks

None of the main banks transfer to Alaska, but Bilt does and they will have some more cards next year. There’s 3 Alaska cards to choose from now though.
